Hall Of Fame

-recieved the WWE Hall Of Fame DVD from Amazon today. This is a must pick up for the long time fans among us, but if for no other reason then Bobby Heenan's acceptence speech. I laughed so hard, I cried and my stomach hurt. The extra's look interesting as well, but I haven't had a chance to look through them yet. also picked up "No Way Out" and "Backlash". I was looking at my collection and including VHS, DVD and VCD, I have every PPV the WWF/WWE has produced (events) since Royal Rumble 1998.

-One of the surprises that I have picked up in my downloads was Big and Rich's album, Horse of a different Color. I'll admit that I only downloaded it to bring up my ratio on torrentbits.org. This is not a novelty act. Recommended songs are:
1. Six foot town
2. Deadwood Mountain
3. Holy Water

-Work is going well, other then the fact that it is still super dead. I ended up keeping my shift of 6am to 12:30pm with sunday and monday's off.

-Despite saying that I woulden't do it, I ended up going to see Nazereth, for awhile anyway. See, what had happioned was Jess was home and we were looking for something to do, and the concert came up. Crush was great, and apparently went to Mike's and played the rest of the night. We stuck around till midnight listening to what sounded like the same song over and over from Nazereth. Good thing Crush was worth the price of the ticket.

Like Harry Potter, Dude

If it ever really happined, It would be the funniest thing ever...the sad part is I could see it on the WB:

From Here:

WB Launching Americanized Harry Potter Series In Fall 2004

The WB network has announced it is launching a new series in the fall based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books.

"We're very excited about this addition to our lineup," said WB co-CEO Jordan Levin. "The Harry Potter books have proved wildly successful when transferred to film, and we think a TV series is the next logical step for this franchise." The WB is owned by Warner Brothers, which has produced the first three Potter films.

The series, provisionally entitled "HP," will be an Americanized adaptation of the original books, more in keeping with the typical teen dramas which are the trademark of the WB.

"The first two movies did okay, but the third one [Prisoner of Azkaban] has been much better received. And do you know why? Because the kids are becoming teens," said Levin. "We think a teen Harry Potter drama really has potential to connect with our prime demographic – especially once we tone down the British cultural references."

The network's controversial decision to Americanize the series and re-imagine Hogwarts School of Wizardry as a high school in Malibu has incited an uproar from Harry Potter fan communities. The WB has expressed confidence that viewers will change their minds after the pilot airs in September, but critics are not so sure.

"The prime-time soaps aired by the WB are beyond awful," said television critic Gregory Vinson. "They're filled with ludicrously attractive twentysomethings pretending to be teenagers and sleeping around at the drop of a hat. The very concept of "Hogwarts 90210" makes me want to retch."

The decision to cast the muscular, six foot three Smallville heartthrob Tom Welling as Harry Potter has already sparked a storm of discussion on fansites worldwide.

"We think that Tom has already shown the brooding intensity you need to play Harry," countered Levin. "I mean, he's already got the dark hair. A pair of glasses and a little scar, and it'll be like Harry walked out of the book."

Fellow WB star Alyssa Milano, who has played a witch for years on the cult favorite Charmed has been cast as Hermione. The part of Harry's pal Ron Weasley has not been cast yet, but the network has confirmed rumors that the role is being "tweaked" to better resonate with American audiences.

"J.K. Rowling's books are extremely British," said Levin. "America's a much more diverse place than Britain, and we really needed to introduce a more urban element to the very provincial original. So it seemed logical to cast an African-American in the role of Ron."

Rowling herself has not officially commented on the new series, and there has been no mention of the series on her website. However, in an online chat over the weekend, she did offer the following enigmatic advice in closing:

"Make bloody well sure," she noted, "you always, always, always read the fine print when you sign something."

Funnies

User Friendly the Comic Strip - The Daily Static

That one is for the rest of the people that are angry about the change of Tech TV.

On that note, it looks like Leo Laporte is going to be back on Tech TV soon, only in Canada. TechTV Canade has picked up the "Call for Help" concept for a show that will start sometime this summer. Keep it here to find out when. If people are wondering about PC's and want to learn more (Gully, I'm looking at you :) ) This would be the show.

For Bloggers Everywhere

User Friendly is my first stop every morning. Some times the Linux jokes can go over my head, but It's always good for a laugh, espically when Dustball starts singing to popular songs like here :)

And Again Here we are

--OK, So I screwed up. Joe Schmo 2 starts tonight. Seems like spike TV pushed it back a week, as they were runningads for last week, but it was changed...or I just screwed up, one or the other

-Had a good time over the weekend, as I went to a wedding for Paul and Lisa. It was a fun and best wishes go to the both of them.

-I haven't watched Bad Blood or RAW yet, as I am DL them both. I am in the process of watching the WWF PPV from December 1996, It's Time.

-Seems like "The Man, The Myth, The Legend Himself" Darren Macdonald , fresh off the radio, has moved to another media as he has a new article in the Moncton Times & Transcript every saturday. Good on him.

-After not downloading any music for a while, I'm back on it, with the New singles from
D12- How Come
The Blackeyed Peas- Let's get it Started
and MA$E- Welcome back

All are worth a download.

One of the best Reality shows on television is back starting tonight. Joe Schmo 2. It's a reality show parody where everyone knows is a fake, except the schmo's.

In this case there is two of them and it's a parody of the dating shows that seem to be everywhere.

And keep an eye out for Johnthan Torrens of "Street Cents" , "Jonovision" and "Trailer Park Boys" as one of the housegests.

It starts tonight on Spike TV!

Stuff, Things and assorted whatnot

- Well, It looks like one of Willie's dreams has come true. No, he hasn't been in a room when Kim Possible has a wardrobe malfunctionCreed has called it Quits. While I did enjoy some of the bands music, I can't say that I'm sorry to see them go. Now the countdown starts until the reunion tour.

- I'm in the process of (ahem) acquiring the New Harry Potter movie, but I may still go see it in the theatre anyway. the copy I acquire is for my own use..yeah that's it.

- In my stereo right now, Avril's new Album "Under My Skin", Carolyn Dawn Johnson's "Dress Rehearsal" and Great Big Sea: Something Beautiful.

Avril's album is what you would expect, except she shows that she's not the same girl that recorded "Let's Go" with a voice that has matured. Songs that I always play more then one is "My Happy ending" (the second single) and "Nobody's Home". I give it a 3/5 for a great POP album. Death metal heads need not apply

One of the VERY few county artists that I have become a fan of over the past few years is Carolyn Dawn Johnson. "Room with a view" which included "Georgia" and "One day closer to you' made for an album that, while it didn't have a permanent spot in my stereo, was a frequent visitor. "Dress rehearsal" on the other hand could take up some space for a long time. Songs like "Simple Life", the very simple "Die of a Broken Heart" and the album closing and very touching "I'll let you go" make for an album that a lot of people will enjoy for a long time 3 1/2 out of 5.

As for GBS, "Something Beautiful" is not quite a step backwards, but a running in place album. The first single "When I am king" goes back to the "Goin Up" days and anyone who doesn't like "Helmethead" is not a GBS fan. "Sally Ann" and "Let it Go" make for an album that fans will enjoy, but I'm not sure any people just coming to the kitchen party will get it. 3/5

-It's been over a week since the change over of TechTV to G4TechTV and may I say F*(# COMCAST!! They took one of the channels that I had the dish for and watched a lot and turned it into something that I don't like even having on my list. It's now all video game shows; and while I enjoy the occasional "X-play" or "judgment Day", it's too much.

-A song that I've enjoyed lately is Twista's "Overnight Celebrity", not for the usual reasons but it's the first time I can remember hearing a live "hip Hop Violin" fromMiri Ben-Ari. I would love to hear her go Fiddle for Fiddle with Natalie Macmaster

Woo to direct Clancy's 'Rainbow'

Woo to direct Clancy's 'Rainbow'

This is great, as Rainbow Six is one of my favorite Clancy books. Now if we can just get "Debt of Honor" and "Executive Orders" done, all would be right in the world
